1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember preferences, keep you logged in, and collect anonymous analytics data.
2. Cookies We Use
- wordpress_* / wp-settings-* — Essential. WordPress session and login cookies that keep you signed in and remember your admin preferences. Session or up to 1 year.
- aict_consent — Essential. Records your cookie banner choice (accept/reject). 1 year. SameSite=Lax.
- aict_persona — Functional. Stores the persona you picked in the onboarding wizard (Marketer / Developer / Writer / Blogger / Freelancer / Small Business / Student / Browsing) so we tailor tool recommendations. 30 days. SameSite=Lax. HttpOnly.
- aict_ — Functional. Stores individual answers to the persona refinement questionnaire (e.g. industry, team size). 30 days. SameSite=Lax.
- aict_subscribed — Functional. Set when you subscribe to the newsletter so we do not show the lead-magnet popup again. 1 year. SameSite=Lax.
- aict_exit_seen — Functional. Set when you dismiss the exit-intent or upgrade popup so we do not show it again immediately. 7 to 30 days. SameSite=Lax.
- _ga, _ga_* — Analytics. Google Analytics 4 measures page views and usage patterns with anonymised IP addresses. Up to 2 years.
- ph_* / __ph_opt_in_out — Analytics. PostHog (EU Cloud, Frankfurt) records product-usage events such as page views and tool clicks to help us improve the site. Set only after you accept Analytics cookies; respects Do Not Track. Up to 1 year.
- stripe_* — Functional. Set by Stripe only during the checkout process to secure the payment session. Session-only.
- PHPSESSID — Functional. PHP server-side session cookie set only when you arrive via a referral link (?ref=CODE). Stores the affiliate code server-side for commission attribution. Expires when you close the browser.
3. Cookies We Do Not Use
We do not set advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not share cookie data with ad networks. The one exception is affiliate attribution (AWIN): a cookie set when you click through to a partner tool, and only after you accept Marketing cookies — used solely to credit the referral, never for advertising or profiling.
4. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies (wordpress_*) will prevent you from staying logged in. Disabling analytics cookies (_ga*) will not affect site functionality. Instructions for major browsers: Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies. Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Safari — Preferences → Privacy.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Google Analytics, PostHog, Stripe (during checkout), and AWIN (affiliate network — only when you click a partner link after accepting Marketing cookies) may set their own cookies governed by their respective privacy policies. We have no control over third-party cookie behaviour. The full list of processors is in our Privacy Policy.
6. Cookie Consent
On your first visit we show a consent banner where you can Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Customize your choice by category (Analytics, Marketing). Non-essential cookies are never set until you opt in — until you make a choice we set only strictly necessary cookies, which the site cannot function without. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

We may update this Cookie Policy. Material changes will be communicated via email or site notice.
