How do I change my email?

/account/profile/ → edit email. We send a confirmation link to the new address; click it to complete the change.

Last updated: 2026-05-04

Steps

  1. Sign in.
  2. Visit /account/profile/.
  3. Click Edit email.
  4. Enter new email + your current password (security check).
  5. Save.
  6. Two emails go out:
  • To the new email: confirmation link (valid 24h).
  • To the old email: "someone changed your email" notification, with a 1-click revert link valid 7 days.
  1. Click the confirmation link in the new email. Email change is now active.

Why two emails?

Protects against compromised accounts. If someone hijacks your password and tries to change your email to lock you out, the old-email notification lets you revert.

OAuth-signed-up users

If you signed in via Google/GitHub, your account is tied to that provider's email. Two options:

  • Add a password to your account (at /account/security/), then change email per above.
  • Re-link OAuth to a different provider account. Contact support — we walk you through to avoid orphaning your data.

Email used as billing

Changing your email here changes the email Stripe sends invoices to. If you want a separate billing email (e.g. [email protected] receives invoices, but you sign in as [email protected]), set it at /account/billing/ → Invoice email.

Edge cases

  • New email already in use by another AICT account: the change is blocked.
  • Confirmation link expires: request a new one from /account/profile/.
